My little Monkey Boy

Yesterday we started Avocado. We are trying to feed the babies natural foods instead of jarred. Anyway, I was moving the spoon towards Z's mouth. Before I could blink he reached up and GRABBED the spoon from my hand! The quick action made the avocado flick off of the spoon and splatter on his face. I couldn't help but totally crack up!

Z has also gotten stronger and stronger. He now can stand unassisted (yes, he is only 4 1/2 months old) while holding onto something. In this picture he is holding onto my tank top... He is such a BIG BOY!!!!!!

OMG, how adorable is THAT!!! We did the homemade / natural food instead of jarred too. Good for you AND for them!

Too cute! I plan on doing the all natural foods when we have a baby too. My sister did jarred and I was reading the ingrediants...why would babies need onion powder or garlic in their foods? I pointed it out to her and she switched to beechnut which did't have all those crazy spices. But I definately will do the home made. When I was a nanny they used ot have me cook up chicked and veggies...puree it and pour it into ince cube trays and freeze it for single servings....

Thank you both for all of your support!

Yes, I read that feeding babies jarred food is like giving them TV dinners every meal. That seems really gross to me.

So cute! Sarah is similar, she still tries to grab the spoon these days, and did it her first bites, too.

I actually enjoy making the food, especially in big batches and then freezing it. Too bad they aren't really interested in purees anymore, but now it's even easier, because we try to eat what they're eating (or vice versa).

Though I worry now that we have given them NO herbs/spices to date and that they will only want bland food for a while so we have to start introducing those things, too!

These pictures are so sweet!
I had planned on trying homemade baby foods this time around, but... never got around to it. We use Beechnut, and Pook is now 9 months old. That is great that you are doing it!
