Surprises

This morning I woke up. I was laying on my back. I rubbed my hand over my belly and was shocked to feel how big it is getting. A little mound has formed. It is so neat to realize that the two babies are just growing along in there!

Yesterday I went to Babies-R-Us. I was a little overwhelmed at how much baby stuff there really is. I spent a good half hour trying out the dual stroller. Let me tell ya, a stroller for two babies is not as easy to work as a stroller for one! The Easiest part was getting it to fold up! (After one of the staff members showed me how to do it... lol)

I guess Graco is the only manufacturer that makes a stroller for twin buckets. Can you believe that??? I know I'm not the first one to have twins!!!! You would think someone would figure out how to make our lives a bit easier! It's not as though having 2 newborns at once is simple!!!!

Anyway, if you lay the seats back, you can get the bucket in. I am happy to say, removing the bucket from the car mount or the stroller if fairly simple. You just have to pull one lever. I tried some carseat out where I couldn't see how you could get the thing detatched without dumping the baby.

ISN'T THERE A MANUAL FOR ALL THIS SOMEWHERE???????!!!!!!!

I have a double stroller...it's by Lil Limo....I love it.
My friend has a jogging double stroller and hers is way better. So mych lighter on the turns and pushing. When I use hers I can use one hand! It's not backin straining either.
They also sell the carseat carrier frames for double strollers...you could always register for that for when they are young and then get the jogging stroller for when they are older. Trust me the jogging stroller is so much better with pushing and all that.

A lot of my experience comes from trial and error. And I know this part is hard but maybe you should put off buying some things until after the babies are here. I have a lot of items that after he was here I never even used. It might be best to have them here (although not on the car seats) before you go overboard. Also how often will you be leaving the house that your husband won't be with you I mean with twins and all you may find it easier and more enjoyable to stay home with them or only go out as a family in which case you could each carry one. Just my thoughts.

kabmom- I was a nanny for 5 years and the oldest of 5 kids (my youngest brother is now 13). So, the good part is that I have a lot of experience with babies. I registered for only the things I found necesarry. I also have not bought anything. The two things I know I need before they get here are the carseats and the pack-n-play (they will be sleeping in it next to my bed for awhile). Otherwise, we will just wait and see. Thanks for your advice!

Yes, most of the time I'm excited. Sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed.

Ladiebug- I took your advice and went out and tried some other strollers. We finally ended up registering for a Bob's twin stroller (jogger) and the frame for the twin carseats. I'm glad you made a comment about it because the carseats I had registered for were recalled. Now I have one that was recommended on Consumer reports. Thanks!

A nanny for five years, talk about training! Well never mind then I'm sure you'll do woderfully. I will agree it is confusing though.

That's wonderful Courtney! You wont be disappointed. I love using the carseat one with my Niece Amelia...so much more conveinient and easy to put the seat on.
I too was a nanny for 4 years (of twins)plus a head infant teacher for 3 years! Plus the second oldest of 7! We have so much experience. It's great you are finally going to get to use all you have experienced!!! My mom has always said that of all of us she thinks I could handle the possibility of more than one baby at a time. Youa re going to make a great mommy!

I think that's the one I registered for. It's a bit expensive, but I know it will be worth it! Thanks for your help!

I REALLY LOVE MY PEG PREGO ARIA twin stroller!! Its only 14lbs and is easy to use. It does not hold two car seats but you can lay your babies in it. I LOVE THIS STROLLER. I know it cost alot but i got mine as a gift. Good luck!!
